TRANSITIONS September 2011
Those of us who make up the Montgomery-Opelika District owe a great big THANK YOU to Linda Murphy, who has served as the District Administrative Assistant for nearly 5 years. Along with serving us, she has also served the Montgomery-Prattville District in the same capacity. Linda has been so helpful and efficient as the Administrative Assistant, but she has done much more. She has also become a close friend to many of us and has gone beyond the second mile in her vocation. She has calmed us when we were worried, fixed our problems when we didn’t know how, reminded us when we forgot, and informed us when we didn’t know the answers. When we needed it, she has challenged us and lovingly pointed us in the right direction in times of decision. I hope you will take the time to send her a card of appreciation. Just a note to tell her how much you appreciate her faithful diligence will mean a lot to her. Do it soon. August 31st was her last “official” day at the office. Surely we hope she will continue to drop by before she finally moves to Louisiana. Once again, THANK YOU, LINDA! You are a blessing!
Likewise, we are especially blessed to have Ashley Epler step in as the new Administrative Assistant for Montgomery-Opelika and Montgomery-Prattville Districts. Ashley is married to Rev. Neil Epler, who is now on staff at Frazer Memorial UMC. They come to Montgomery from Enterprise, Alabama, where Neil was the pastor of St. Luke UMC. Ashley brings many great gifts to us as she learns all the details about how a District office works. She has a warm and pleasant personality, a pleasing voice, and knows the workings of churches. As a pastor’s wife, she also understands what clergy experience and will be very insightful in helping all of us. I hope you will drop by the office at 1749 Platt Place in Montgomery to meet Ashley. Even if you already know her, she will be glad to receive your personal welcome. We also want to say a big WELCOME to Ashley and a THANK YOU in advance for all the ways
she will help us do the work of the kingdom.
God bless you all,
Brother Ron
